Apple Officially Announces iPhone 12 Event for October 13th
Apple today officially announced the iPhone 12 event for October 13 at 10AM PT. The announcement comes with the tagline “Hi, Speed” hinting at 5G connectivity for the iPhone 12 and the new A14 chipset. The event will be streamed live on Apple’s website and its official YouTube page.
What to Expect from the iPhone 12 Event?
Apart from the new iPhones, Apple will be showcasing other products but the main focus will be the iPhone 12 lineup. Apple is expected to unveil four new devices – a 5.4” iPhone 12, a 6.1” iPhone 12 Max, a 6.1” iPhone 12 Pro, and a 6.7” iPhone 12 Pro Max.
Time for the the internet to collectively read way too far into this
“Hi Speed” is definitely a nod to 5G. Gotta love speed. Also A14 chip
But I also love fast screens. So 120Hz would be nice ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
4 golden rings here. Quad… cameras? Fast cameras? Now we’re reaching 😅 pic.twitter.com/GStv5IpQXH

The 5.4” iPhone 12 and the 6.1” iPhone 12 Max are expected to feature dual rear cameras just like the iPhone 11 while the iPhone 12 Pro and the Pro Max will feature triple rear cameras and the LiDAR scanner which was first introduced on the iPad Pro. Other expected features are OLED panels and most importantly support for both the mmWave 5G and the sub-6GHz 5G. Any hope for a 120Hz screen refresh rate seems to have been quashed by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, so a 90Hz screen should be expected.
Other products expected to be unveiled are a new over-ear headphone, a HomePod, AirTag item trackers, a new Apple TV and Siri Remote among others.
